Superb old school diner with a wonderful beautiful ambiance, very nice and clean restaurant. Seats are dark maroon color , gives you the different type of feeling in a good way. they have family booths and bar type l shaped table, beautiful.Waiters and staff is very polite and welcoming. Menu is very good and dishes are mouth watering. went for breakfast and not disappointed, Mexican omelet with house made potatoes are out standing and my server keep checking on me with free coffee refiles. Definitely will go for dinner also.
Delicious food at great value. The restaurant has recently been remodeled, though no public wi-fi. Extremely busy on Sunday mornings and afternoons — you will wait fifty minutes if you are lucky! Small though clean bathrooms.
My friends and I grew up near here and visited again recently. This place was an institution back then and it hasn't changed very much! Which is really great because it is excellent!
Still a great place to get ice cream after all these years. A vestige of Queen's older days. Been there 60 years. Real flowers on every table and every table is marble is a nice touch. Yes they still do sell "The Kitchen Sink" sundae. Great ice cream, sundaes, shakes, floats, malteds, and egg creams. Also have diner food (which we didn't have this visit).
Beautiful restaurant with a large variety of almost everything you can want from a diner! Their desserts are what they’re known for. I usually come by for a quick bite for a date. They serve you large portions & are always refilling your water/ coffee cup. I definitely recommend their spinach pie & anything on the dessert menu.
This place is over priced. Would not mind paying for the food. But the Service is the worst. They do not refill your coffee, you have to wait until the servers finish socializing between them. When asked for a new ketchup they snatch it from the Table and bring another half bottle from another table. I Have lived my whole life in this neighborhood. When over 40 years Jahns was estabished. Service has gone from Good to Worse. I would not recommend this place to anybody. But this is one of two in Jackson Heights Coffee and Lunch Restaurant. Terrible....
Clean diner with quick and efficient service. Good prices and selection.
Delicious! I absolutely recommend the breakfast menu here.
FABULOUS BREAKFAST!! Weekday specials are great portions && fairly priced. Service is always impeccable, despite how busy it gets. Lunch selections are varied but not very good but the prices are fair and the food is served promptly. Tables are small however, so small groups (4-6) are best if you all want to sit at the same table.
The food came quickly and it was very good. The bacon was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and they kept coming with the coffee. I love coffee. Shamoan.
I have been coming to eat breakfast for years with my family. The food it is always been good as well as the service and lets not even forget of the coffee. But, lately they are lacking tremendosly on the service.(The key is customer service). The hostes are not welcoming at all. The waiter and the other waitresses are not pleasant anymore except the pretty young lady from Venezuela. She always have a smile. The gentleman that works there for many years that brings the coffee to refill it is always very attentive but the coffee it is so light nothing like it used to be. With big dissapointment this place it is not what it use to be. Please bring back the good and quality of service your restaurant used to have.
Splendid old school diner with a wonderful ambiance and delightful ice cream/dessert menu. The staff is friendly and attentive, too!
Great service, good food, reasonable price.
Throwback to old Queens. Friendly staff and good ice cream sundaes. It's got a big diner menu.
I’m in love. Jahn’s is an establishment I’d only heard of in stories for years as their Bronx location closed before my time, but it remains alive in Queens.Between the antique vibe, the delicious food, and incredible ice cream, I now know why people speak of it with such warm nostalgia.
I ordered a meet loaf and I didn't really like the seasonings on the meat loaf. But the string bean side was just bad. They were very overcooked, all wilted and yellowish. My bf ordered the burger and it was very good, including the fries.
We always enjoy Jahns
Great food and service!
Great breakfast options with good service.
Right in the Heart of Jackson,Hiegths Queens near the corner of 37 Ave and 81St one block from the 82nd St 7 Subway station.I order a Breakfast Western Omelette with American cheese and white bread it's was very good and satisfying, to top it off with coffee really made my breakfast and Lunch, they do have specials that Finnish at 11:00AM, there's plenty of seating but depending of the day of the week it gets pack. I been coming here for years and this place has survived many changes in the neighbor, there are many restaurants in the area, the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing beats JAHNS diner.
I went to Jahn’s as a child nearly 27 years ago with my mom. I was very young and remember having the sundae with hot fudge. The location we went to back then was near Richmond Hill, and it was closed many years ago. Recently I was thinking about Jahn’s as happens every few years, and I mentioned to my wife that I wished Jahn’s was still around. I explained it being a childhood memory and probably the first sundae I had. We went to queens yesterday to get lunch, and on the way home we decided to get froyo. A block before the froyo store we passed Jahn’s and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was shocked. I called my mom which I’m really lucky to be able to do to tell her about it. I had a banana split, my wife had the sundae. Both were amazing. I’m so happy to re-discover Jahn’s. We’ll be working on a family in the near future and I want to take my tots to Jahn’s for their first sundae like I had done with my mom.
Lovely! A place in Queens where one can feel transplanted to another time and era. Had floats, ice cream and staff were super accommodating and explain the menu very well.
A very good old-school diner. It's a nostalgic throwback.
Services are great! Food is amazing! I love their steak and fresh berries waffle!
Breakfast was too oily..even home fries were oily and mushy... coffee ok but nothing to brag about..service was great...food wasn't..would not go back
Fire. Great service. Super nice waiters and super good food.
A New York treasure. I hope my future grandkids get to enjoy Jahn's classic NYC diner fare. As good as the food is, the consistent warmth of the managers and staff are extraordinary.
Good food fast service clean .
Eggs are consistently on the overcooked side, but this is a good breakfast place nonetheless.
I was expecting more. The food is good but the service wasn’t the best. I want to go back because they have a lot of items in the menu and I want to try their ice cream. Hopefully I’ll have a better experience next time.
The food here is excellent and delicious. My favourite place to go eat lunch
Amazingly cute historic diner! Food is great diner food and desserts are to die for! <3 Jahn's!!
The service was good not great. Food the chicken fingers overdone. Chicken parmigiana sandwich overdone and dry. Go for breakfast items only. Good deli sandwich
Good food and great prices. The wait staff is polite and friendly. The ice cream is wonderful. It's an old neighborhood fixture. Always a good meal there, breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The food is good and the service is great
Nice place with a good atmosphere! However, the sausage was incredibly fat and the bacon was too salty. The pancakes had very plain taste, but at that price it was acceptable :)
Great Breakfast, but best known for their ice cream.
Jahn's has been my family's special occasion place for over 30 years. So many childhood memories took place there, had a first date or two as a teenager, and now it's a go-to when I come home to see my family. The best egg creams in the city, delicious meatloaf, and the ice cream is amazing. One of the best places in Jackson Heights, hands down.
Food is always great. Staff is friendly and its always clean.
Having heard about this place and craving some ice cream on a hot June day, we decided to check it out.We were not disappointed. Apparently they are also a Greek diner of sorts but the food was not to be on our plates. There was only one thing in our sights: ice cream sundaes. We had a fairly tough time deciphering the menu though. There's a lot of cute local names for things and no descriptions. We asked the waiter and he tried to tell us to just build our own sundaes. But with all the fun names we were curious and the friendly waiter flagged down the "boss man".He better explained the menu and we were like "OOooooh". The different sections are really just different sizes of sundaes with different themes. The themes are based around a single topping. So really just go ahead and order the number of scoops you want and the toppings you'd like and there you go!Find pictured my strawberry/cherry vanilla banana split. It was great!
It's a very nice traditional old school diner. I don't give it 5 stars because it's very pricey and ok, it's good but that's what would make it great. Enjoyed it.
This place is very old, it est in 1879. It has its nostalgia but this place is not very clean, its DUSTY. floors look like they get clean twice a week. Doesn't look like they mop. Food is eh. I wont come here again. At least I can said I visited the last JAHNS. P.S. owner, please clean this place up. It has potential.
It did take a min for the servers to come and take the order. Other than that everything was wonderful.
I've been coming to Jahn's for a few months now, the food, the service, the portions, the value is all amazing. Simple done really well and you can tell it has been the recipe for success unchanged for decades. Mexican omelette with potatoes and toast is incredible.
Always beautiful, good food, good service and very good family who run it
Really good ice cream and fun to share.
Nice family friendly place.
Ioved this place. It's like back in your parents time. The dessert place if you have a sweet tooth. Love love
